  • What is Global Medical Directory (GMD)?

    • Global Medical Directory is a unique online portal, providing comprehensive information about individual plastic surgeons through easy to browse profiles. Global Medical Directory does not include other licensed health care professionals such as dentists, optometrists, chiropractors, nurses, or allied health personnel. GMD also provides extensive information related to the field of plastic surgery, allowing you to educate yourself and make an informed decision on your surgery.

  • Can I search for a surgeon without signing up for a profile?

    • GMD allows everyone, registered user or not, the ability to search for surgeons and send them messages. However, registering with our site allows you to participate in added features such as saving your search criteria and having surgeons message you back directly.

  • Will I need to pay for a profile, now or any time in the future?

    • No, it is completely free for users to sign up, and GMD will remain free for the duration of your use.

  • How can I register with GMD?

    • Registration is simple, and only takes a minute. Find our registration page and complete the form as follows.

    1. Enter all required information and click "Submit."
    2. Confirm your registration via email.
    3. You will be redirected to the GMD site, where you can log in and customize your account.

  • How do I login to GMD?

    • Once you register with GMD, you can log in with your email address and password from anywhere on the site. Log in is located at the upper right corner of every page.

  • I forgot my username and password, how can I retrieve them?

    • Your username is the email address used to set up your account. By clicking "Forgot Username/Password," you will be prompted to answer a security question, and our system will email you a link to change your password. This email will be sent to the address you used to set up the account.

  • If I have problems updating my information on the public pages what should I do?

    • Feel free to contact our support team with any difficulties updating your information on the public pages. Refer to the "Contact Us" tab in the main menu, and expect a timely response.

  • I searched for my plastic surgeon by name and didn't find him/her. What am I doing wrong?

    • There are a variety of ways to search for a plastic surgeon on GMD. If you were unable to effectively search by name, try searching by other criteria such as Location or Procedure. If you know the exact address, zip code, or area your surgeon practices, this may be an effective way of searching. For more search tips, click here

  • How do I search for a plastic surgeon by name if I am not sure where he/she practices?

    • If you enter your physician's name, but do not know where he/she practices, your search with return all results for surgeons with that name, regardless of city. Knowing your surgeon's gender, language, and years of practice will help to filter these results.For more search tips click here

  • Will surgeons be able to contact me?

    • Surgeons who have an upgraded active profile do have the option of sending messages through our portal. You must be registered in order to receive these messages.

  • My surgeon recently moved and GMD does not provide his new office location. How does the GMD information get updated?

    • Your plastic surgeon can send updates to Global Medical Directory by using the "Online Directory Management Form."

  • Will I be able to share content from Global Medical Directory with my favorite social networking site?

    • Yes, GMD provides the option of 'Share this page' which will link the page and its content to your favorite networking site. Login and password to the site are required to post.

  • How can I locate subject-specific content in your Digital Library?

    • Links to our Resource Center are located on the right side of the homepage. You can search subject-specific material by entering your interest into our search bar, and/or browse by category to narrow your results.
